All financial donations of $20 or more are eligible for an income tax receipt.
“The CP24 CHUM CHRISTMAS WISH is a remarkable annual tradition that we are deeply honoured to uphold,” said Dave Daigle, Vice-President of Radio and Local TV, Bell Media. “This great cause is made possible by the kindness and generosity of Torontonians coming together to support their communities and make Christmas memorable for families in need.”
“Each and every year, Torontonians brighten the holiday season by bringing Christmas cheer to kids and families across the GTA,” said Joanne MacDonald, Vice-President, CTV News and General Manager, CP24. “We’re proud to team up with viewers and listeners, as well as our great sponsors, who generously support the CP24 CHUM CHRISTMAS WISH. Their collective contributions demonstrate the true spirit of the season.”
To kick off this year’s CP24 CHUM CHRISTMAS WISH, CP24’s LIVE AT NOON with Stephen LeDrew will feature a special interview today from the RBC On My Way location in Toronto’s PATH, where RBC will accept toy and financial donations, in addition to a corporate donation on behalf of the RBC Foundation.
One of the largest distributors of toys to children in need in the Greater Toronto Area, the CP24 CHUM CHRISTMAS WISH provides financial assistance to hundreds of charitable organizations, social services agencies, churches, and community centres. In 2016, with help from Royal Bank of Canada in conjunction with Toronto Social Services, the CP24 CHUM CHRISTMAS WISH provided support to hundreds of thousands of individuals with toys and financial assistance.
The success of the CP24 CHUM CHRISTMAS WISH is made possible by valued partners who have been helping to put smiles on the faces of children and families for more than 50 years, with a special shout out to LoyaltyOne, owner and operator of the AIR MILES Reward Program. LoyaltyOne’s participation has made a major financial impact on CP24 CHUM CHRISTMAS WISH, through donations of more than $1.8 million and thousands of toys over the years to the program, which they continue to support this year.
The CP24 CHUM CHRISTMAS WISH acknowledges the generosity of community partners RBC Foundation, LoyaltyOne, the Honda Canada Foundation, and Budget Car and Truck Rental.
