Chewy and Happy are the first team eliminated in Season 6 of CTV’s THE AMAZING RACE CANADA: HEROES EDITION.
To tweet this alert: http://bit.ly/2KHJHat It was a heartfelt goodbye for retired Air Force Pilots Chewy and Happy in tonight’s Season 6 premiere of THE AMAZING RACE CANADA: HEROES EDITION. Chewy struggled to complete the Roadblock on his first attempt, but managed to still stay within reach of other racers. Sadly, the boisterous friends fell short in a foot race against Joseph and Akash to the mat, and the Ontario based duo became the first team eliminated at the Pit Stop at the Britannia Mine Museum. With nine teams remaining in the competition, THE AMAZING RACE CANADA returns next Tuesday, July 10 at 8 p.m. ET / 9 p.m. MT on CTV and CTV GO. “Just being a part of THE AMAZING RACE CANADA: HEROES EDITION for us is humbling,” said Chewy to host Jon Montgomery at the Pit Stop. “It’s an honour to represent the men and women of the Air Force.” *MEDIA NOTE* To download additional artwork and press materials for THE AMAZING RACE CANADA: HEROES EDITION, please visit BellMedia.ca/PR. In the Season 6 premiere, 10 teams embarked on the country’s favourite summertime adventure, beginning in British Columbia at Hatley Castle at Royal Roads University, a national historic site located in Victoria, B.C., teams raced to BC Ferries, where they had to cross the Straight of Georgia to mainland. Once docked, teams drove themselves north to the mountain town of Squamish, B.C. and took the Sea to Sky Gondola, an epic 850 metres to the summit to find their next clue. Faced with the first Roadblock of the season, one racer from each team had to retrieve a stuffed beaver, dangling high above the canyon floor by jumping from a rope swing. While Chewy, Adam, and Akash struggled to save the symbol of national pride, Nancy, Leanne, Todd, Taylor, Phil, Dylan, and Monica succeeded on their first attempt. Teams then proceeded to Squamish Days Loggers Sports Festival for a second Roadblock, which saw the racer that didn’t perform the first Roadblock gear up and climb to the top of an 80 foot pole. Channeling their inner-lumberjack, racers used all their might to grab the clue at the top of the pole and then made their way to Darrell Bay. Once there, teams grabbed a tandem paddle board and made their way into the bay to go crabbing. Out on the water, teams found 20 buoys with crab traps submerged beneath. Teams had to successfully pull up a crab trap that contained a regulation size crab and return to shore to receive their next clue. Once teams completed the crabbing challenge, they raced to the Pit Stop where they had to find host Jon Montgomery inside Mill No. 3 at the Britannia Mine Museum. Mentors Leanne and Mar arrived first, winning a trip for two to Tokyo, Japan. After a dramatic and close race to the finish against Joseph and Akash, and Chewy and Happy, the retired air force pilots, were the last team to arrive at the Pit Stop and the first team eliminated from Season 6 of THE AMAZING RACE CANADA: HEROES EDITION.
