Joseph and Akash became the second team eliminated in Season 6 of CTV’s THE AMAZING RACE CANADA: HEROES EDITION.
To tweet this alert: http://bit.ly/2LdXW7c It was a close finish for Joseph and Akash in tonight’s episode of THE AMAZING RACE CANADA: HEROES EDITION. Akash struggled to complete a falconers knot in the Roadblock, which led the team to lose their momentum and fall into last place. The volunteers from Ontario became the second team eliminated at the Pit Stop when they arrived at the historic Kinsol Trestle Bridge on Vancouver Island. With eight teams remaining in the competition, THE AMAZING RACE CANADA returns next Tuesday, July 24 at 8 p.m. ET / 9 p.m. MT on CTV and CTV GO. “No matter what, I’m always really proud of Akash,” said Joseph to host Jon Montgomery at the Pit Stop. “I know he gave it everything he’s got and that’s all I can ask for as a partner. We’re leaving this race incredibly inspired to keep doing what we love, to keep giving back to our communities, and to inspire other people around us to give back as well.” “I think this race shows us there’s still so much to learn, never stop, and keep on working even harder,” Akash added. “We didn’t win THE AMAZING RACE CANADA, but to be amongst some of Canada’s finest heroes has been an absolute honour for us.” *MEDIA NOTE* To download artwork and press materials for THE AMAZING RACE CANADA: HEROES EDITION, please visit BellMedia.ca/PR. From the Pit Start in Dawson City, Yukon, all nine teams travelled over 2,000 km to Salt Spring Island, B.C. Racers headed to the Salt Spring Saturday Market and searched for a pie stand where they had to chow down two full homemade blueberry pies. After arriving last on the previous leg, Zainab and Monica had to complete a Speedbump testing their taste buds and correctly identify 12 different types of fleur de sel before they could join the other racers. Todd and Anna, and Leanne and Mar used their Express Pass’ from the last leg to bypass the difficult challenge that left various racers over stuffed. Teams then proceeded to Mount Erskine Provincial Park, where they took a walk on the whimsical side and searched the lush green forest for one of three tiny fairy doors that contained their next clue. Nancy and Mellisa used their Express Pass to skip this challenge after arriving last and noticing that all the other teams had already left. All teams then travelled by ferry to Vancouver Island where they drove themselves to Vancouver Island Motorsport Circuit. In this Roadblock, one team member had to shift gears and get behind the wheel to complete one full lap of the track in less than three minutes without exceeding 80 kilometres an hour. While first responder Courtney failed to pass on her first attempt, all the other racers succeeded. Once teams completed the driving challenge they made their way to Pacific Northwest Raptors. In this Roadblock, the racer who didn’t perform the first Roadblock had to learn the basics of falconry and tie a complicated one-handed knot in 15 seconds after watching a silent demonstration. Adam was the only racer to succeed during a first attempt of Roadblock, while Akash struggled and had to receive extra motivation from Joseph. From the Roadblock, teams raced to the Pit Stop where they had to find host Jon Montgomery on top of the Kinsol Trustle Bridge, the highest wooden trestle in Canada. Following an intense footrace to the mat against Todd and Anna, Taylor and Courtney arrived first, winning a trip for two to Boston. After losing speed on the last Roadblock, volunteers Joseph and Akash were the last team to arrive at the Pit Stop and the second team eliminated from Season 6 of THE AMAZING RACE CANADA: HEROES EDITION.
