On Sunday at 7:30 a.m. ET, RDS will present the Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the 19th and final race of the 2014 Formula 1 calendar. The stakes are high: the F1 World Drivers’ Championship is up for grabs, with Lewis Hamilton holding a slender 17 point lead over his Mercedes teammate, Nico Rosberg. With points counting double in the season’s final Grand Prix, if Rosberg were to win the race, Hamilton would have to finish second or see the title slip out of his grasp.
The Grand Prix will also mark the end of a chapter in F1 history, as Fernando Alonso (Ferrari) and Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull) will race for their respective teams for the last time.
RDS will also present the qualifying session for the Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on Saturday at 7:52 a.m. ET.
Pierre Houde and Bertrand Houle will be on hand to provide commentary and analysis for the race, with the support of Christian Tortora, who will join the team to share his perspective and behind-the-scenes information with viewers.
On Sunday at 7 a.m. ET, RDS will present a new episode of F1 Magazine in conjunction with the airing of the Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The lineup includes an interview with Gavin Ward (Canadian engineer on the Red Bull team), an interview with Valtteri Bottas (driver with the Williams team), a countdown of the top five races of Ayrton Senna’s career and a report on the reliability of Ferrari cars.
