In the wake of allegations of neglect and abuse against their vulnerable loved ones, 30 families have launched a $200 million class-action lawsuit against long-term care conglomerate, Revera.
Continuing W5’s ongoing investigation into standards of care in Canadian long-term care facilities, W5 reporter Sandie Rinaldo interviews families involved in the lawsuit who share horror stories of the alleged mistreatment of their loved ones. Rinaldo also interviews Ontario Minister of Health Erik Hoskins, questioning what government protections are in place for seniors in long-term care facilities. In search of accountability for the alleged negligent treatment of vulnerable seniors living in their care facilities, Rinaldo also interviews Revera’s Vice-President of Operations, who claims a 93% satisfaction rate among its clients.
Also this week, W5 Host and Managing Editor Kevin Newman delivers “TRUMPLAND”, an up-close look at the U.S. as the Trump presidency approaches its first 100 days.
