RDS, in collaboration with Désertours, presents a unique adventure undertaken by 112 women: the Trophée Roses des Andes. The pioneering participants in this new race will drive across the rugged landscapes of Argentina, following the same route as the legendary Dakar Rally. To reach the finish line, they will have to push their limits, support each other and surpass themselves. RDS will air the first of four episodes this Saturday at 1 p.m. ET.
The Trophée Roses des Andes is a race which is open to women only and closely follows the tradition of African rallies. Driving a 4x4 vehicle, the aim is to complete each stage of the rally using a roadbook, map and compass while meeting the various route checkpoints.
Participants in the rally’s first edition notably include RDS’s Claudine Douville, who will serve as viewers’ guide to the race throughout the series. Claudine also describes the adventure that is the Trophée Roses des Andes in her most recent column on RDS.ca.
