TSN and RDS Announce Multi-Year Media Rights Extension for IIHF ICE HOCKEY WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

– TSN and RDS extend broadcast agreement for IIHF ICE HOCKEY WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP to 2023, with live coverage of marquee international hockey tournament continuing to appear exclusively across the networks’ broadcast and digital platforms –
TORONTO(May 20, 2016) – With Connor McDavid, Auston Matthews, and Patrik Laine making headline news around the hockey world at the 2016 IIHF ICE HOCKEY WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP, TSN and RDS announced today they have reached a multi-year media rights extension with Infront Sports & Media, exclusive media and marketing partner for the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), that will see the networks deliver exclusive live coverage of the IIHF ICE HOCKEY WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP through to 2023.
This marquee international hockey tournament is one of 60+ iconic championship events that live on TSN.

Exclusive live coverage of the IIHF ICE HOCKEY WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP will continue to be broadcast across TSN’s five national feeds, with live streaming and on-demand viewing available to TSN subscribers through TSN GO. RDS delivers live coverage across its suite of platforms, including RDS, RDS2, RDS Info, and RDS GO.
The new extension will also see TSN platforms deliver live coverage of the semi-finals and final from Europe's preeminent club hockey competition, the CHAMPIONS HOCKEY LEAGUE, for the first time ever in Canada.
