TORONTO (August 9, 2016) – With famous new managers, major summer signings, and the unlikeliest of defending champions, drama is running high as the 2016-17 PREMIER LEAGUE season kicks off on TSN, the home of soccer in Canada. The network today unveiled its broadcast schedule through to October, delivering multiple games each week across TSN’s five national feeds and the TSN GO app as part of the network’s 190-game package (see below or visit TSN.ca for confirmed schedule). TSN’s PREMIER LEAGUE coverage kicks off with four games on Saturday, Aug. 13, beginning at 7 a.m. ET on TSN5 with the season opener as Jamie Vardy and 2015-16 champions Leicester City begin their title defense against Hull City. Coverage continues across TSN platforms at 10 a.m. ET with Everton vs. Tottenham, Burnley vs. Swansea City, and Southampton vs. Watford.   • London rivals clash at Emirates Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 24 when Arsenal host Chelsea at 12:30 p.m. ET on TSN1 and TSN4
TSN’s live coverage of the PREMIER LEAGUE is also available for live streaming and on-demand viewing to TSN subscribers through the TSN GO app. The top four finishers in this year’s PREMIER LEAGUE table will qualify for next year’s UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE, with the fifth place club qualifying for the UEFA EUROPA LEAGUE. Soccer on Bell Media TSN and RDS hold a multi-year broadcast agreement that gives the networks Canadian media rights to half of all games from the PREMIER LEAGUE. Through a new multi-year broadcast rights agreement with UEFA announced in December 2014, TSN and RDS are also the primary Canadian broadcasters of the UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE and UEFA EUROPA LEAGUE beginning this year.
