TORONTO (May 31, 2016) – TSN, official broadcast partner of Canada Soccer, delivers a month of must-see soccer matches this June, including the semifinal and final legs of the 2016 AMWAY CANADIAN CHAMPIONSHIP – one of 60+ iconic championship events that live on TSN – and a pair of international friendlies featuring the Canadian women’s national team on the Road to Rio (see below for broadcast schedule). TSN’s live coverage of the 2016 AMWAY CANADIAN CHAMPIONSHIP and the Canadian women’s national team friendlies is also available live and on demand to TSN subscribers via TSN GO. 2016 AMWAY CANADIAN CHAMPIONSHIP Marking its debut on TSN, the 2016 AMWAY CANADIAN CHAMPIONSHIP features the four remaining professional Canadian soccer clubs fighting for the Voyageurs Cup and a spot in 2016-2017 CONCACAF Champions League – the most prestigious tournament in North American soccer. The action kicks off with simultaneous semifinal matchups tomorrow (Wednesday, June 1) at 7:30 p.m. ET, with Vancouver Whitecaps FC taking on Ottawa Fury FC on TSN1 and Toronto FC battling Montreal Impact on TSN4. Throughout the 2016 AMWAY CANADIAN CHAMPIONSHIP, TSN’s exclusive live coverage features play-by-play commentary from Luke Wileman and Vic Rauter, and analysis from Jason deVos, Greg Sutton, and Nick Dasovic. Road to Rio Friendlies Led by global soccer star Christine Sinclair, the #CanWNT squares off against Brazil in the team’s final tune-up in the countdown to the RIO 2016 OLYMPIC GAMES. The action kicks off live from Toronto’s BMO Field on Saturday, June 4 at 4 p.m. ET on TSN, followed by a second friendly live from Ottawa’s TD Place on Tuesday, June 7 at 7 p.m. ET, again on TSN. Calling the action is play-by-play commentator Luke Wileman and analyst Jason deVos, with Jennifer Hedger hosting and contributing reports from field level. In addition, former Canadian women’s national team goalkeeper Karina LeBlanc will be in the TSN broadcast booth at BMO Field to provide extra analysis.
