U.S. Critics Are Loving LETTERKENNY!

— July 23, 2018

CraveTV’s original series LETTERKENNY has made its debut south of the border, with the first two seasons streaming now on Hulu, and the much-loved Canadian comedy is receiving a warm welcome from U.S. critics. The Hollywood Reporter’s Tim Goodman – an early fan of the series who describes discovering LETTERKENNY “a little like running into some crack” – wrote the feature “Critic's Notebook: 'Letterkenny' Is the Canadian Comedy You Didn't Know You Needed”. Goodman’s feature is an ode to his love for LETTERKENNY, calling the series “a highly stylized bit of brilliance,” “relentlessly creative,” and telling his readers to “figure it out.” In The New York Times, Margaret Lyons recommends LETTERKENNY to readers “tired of the same old comedy stuff” who are in search of “anarchic flair” and “stylized dialogue.” Lysons states that LETTERKENNY “has a quiet sweetheart streak, even when it’s shockingly filthy” and urges viewers to “binge judiciously.” In his review for Rolling Stone, Alan Sepinwall calls LETTERKENNY a “wonderfully weird Canadian comedy” that “spoke in the only dialect I needed to hear: funny.” While making comparison to Aaron Sorkin and LAW & ORDER, Sepinwall remarks that “this oddball show offers big laughs.” While Americans may only have the first two seasons to sample, Canadians can catch up on three seasons of the LETTERKENNY on CraveTV, with an all-new six-pack of episodes streaming now.
