MONTREAL (June 11, 2014) – Yesterday evening, Bell Media presented to advertisers and ad agencies its fall programming for its French-language specialty channels, namely Canal Vie, Canal D, VRAK TV, Investigation, Ztélé, RDS, RDS2 and RDS Info, as well as CTV and other featured channels (MusiquePlus and MusiMax). As of late August, viewers will have the opportunity to discover over a hundred new shows, as well as many new episodes from their favourites.
As part of this launch, Luc Sabbatini, President, Bell Media Sales, presented a video that underlines the values and vision at the center of Bell Media Sales, introduced nearly one year ago. “The rules in the market are ever-changing and we must react and communicate accordingly. With 14 new programs this fall, Canal Vie will be yours to rediscover. Indeed, physical, personal, and psychological transformations are all on the menu. In QUEL ÂGE ME DONNEZ-VOUS?, Jean Airoldi offers women the chance to look at least ten years younger. COMMENT RÉNOVER SANS TROP SE CHICANER, hosted by Saskia Thuot and Pierre-Alexandre Fortin, is a survival guide for couples that wish to tackle renovation projects. ME CONNAIS-TU?, hosted by comedian Jeremy Demay, challenges couples to find out how much they really know each other. In DEVINE QUI VIENT GARDER? celebrities leave their comfort zone for an adventure in babysitting. Lastly, Marina Orsini will meet with other local celebrities to talk about life.
Canal D presents the original production of BODY LANGUAGE, a documentary series that analyzes suspects’ non-verbal cues during police interrogations. VACANCES INFERNALES (French-language version of WHEN VACATIONS ATTACK) features dream vacations that suddenly turn into nightmares. Revenus vivants (French-language version of GOT HOME ALIVE) presents the testimonials of people who overcame adversity during a trip. Canal D will also continue to offer a wide variety of documentaries, including LES RÉAL BÉLAND, in which Réal “the son” tells his daughters stories of their grandfather through archives of home videos.
Besides renewing its brand image and channel identity, Ztélé will present three new original productions. In CLASSÉ XXX, host Mélanie Maynard will explore the unknown side of pornography. With host Mathieu Gratton, viewers will discover the fascinating world of pawnshops in Pawn shop québec. DIRECT DANS L’NET, is a trendy review of the Web’s best content, all with a zany colour commentary that’s sure to make viewers laugh! On the fiction side, SLEEPY HOLLOW, TOMMOROW PEOPLE, ALMOST HUMAN, and Space channel success story BITTEN will be sure to please fans of fantasy series. Lastly, Ztélé will give its viewers the chance to watch the country’s worst drivers in PIRES CHAUFFARDS CANADIENS, as well as the real-life documentary of NAKED AND AFFRAID, in which two survivalists, a man and a woman, must survive for 21 days alone… and naked!
Through its entertaining and captivating programming, Canal D Investigation explores the criminal universe’s many facets. This fall, new series AFFAIRE RÉSOLUE (French-language version of SOLVED), MARIÉE À LA MAFIA (French-language version of I MARRIED A MOBSTER) and DISPARUS (French-language version of disappeared) will keep viewers on the edge of their seats. Furthermore, 48 POUR UN CRIME (French-language version of the first 48), AU BOUT DE LA PEUR (French-language version of beyond scared straight) and GANGLAND (French-language version) will be back. Investigation became available to all Videotron subscribers on May 1, 2014.
This fall, VRAK will treat itself to a makover… and new evening programming. From 7-11 p.m. Monday to Thursday, a new channel VRAK 2, VRAK’s older sister, will offer older viewers edgier evening content. Among VRAK 2’s new must-see shows are NEW GIRL, starring Zooey Deschanel, 2 FILLES FAUCHÉES (French-language version of TWO BROKE GIRLS), PAPA OÙ T'ES? (French-language version of GENERATION CRYO), and ON M'A VOLÉ MES JEANS (French-language version of I JUST WANT MY PANTS BACK). Lastly, followers of series Les menteuses will love RAVENSWOOD (French-language version), its supernatural offshoot. VRAK will also present VRAK ATTAQUE, in which Pascal Morissette, Nicolas Ouellet and Vanessa Pilon will put their own spin on the latest news young people are talking about.
This year will mark RDS’ 25th anniversary, and to celebrate this important milestone, the sports channel will offer 25 ANS D’ÉMOTIONS, a documentary series that will look back on the stand-out human stories and sports events from the last quarter century.
Official broadcaster for the MONTRÉAL CANADIENS and OTTAWA SENATORS until 2026, RDS will once again be hockey fans’ go-to channel this season. Besides presenting all CH games, excluding Saturday nights, RDS will continue to dominate the sports segment during peak viewing times, starting at 4 p.m. with the return of flagship shows SPORTS 30 LE MAGAZINE, LE 5 À 7, HOCKEY 360, and L’ANTICHAMBRE.
This fall, football fever will be at its highest pitch ever at RDS, with the presentation of over 70 NFL FOOTBALL games, right up until the SUPER BOWL, as well as the CFL PLAYOFFS and GREY CUP FINALS. Through BLITZ, its new weekly news show focused entirely on football; JEUX DE SPORTS a new show dedicated to poolers; as well as its comprehensive and interactive digital offering, RDS will present the ultimate football experience to French-speaking viewers.
The MLB PLAYOFFS and WORLD SERIES, the MLS PLAYOFFS and MLS CUP FINALS, as well as the world junior hockey Championship, are also part of RDS’ fall programming, which will once again be further enhanced through new, high-quality in-house productions, including HORS JEU 2.0, a weekly program that will take a colourful look into the off-ice life of NHL players.
CTV, Canada’s #1 television network for the past 13 years in a row, has unveiled an impressive evening line-up for 2014/15. This fall, CTV presents new drama series HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER, FOREVER, THE FLASH, and GOTHAM, as well as new comedies THE McCARTHYS and THE MILLERS. Established series, such as GREY’S ANATOMY, THE BIG BANG THEORY, THE AMAZING RACE, ONCE UPON A TIME, MARVEL’S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D, CRIMINAL MINDS and CSI, will be among the returning shows.

MusiMax combines food and music with BOUFFE ET MUSIQUE, in which an artist is interviewed in a restaurant. Always glamorous, Hollywood will stand out this fall in SCANDALES À HOLLYWOOD (French-language version of HOLLYWOOD SCANDALS) and HOLLYWOOD CHANTE ET DANSE! (French-language version of hollywood singing and dancing), a tribute to Broadway’s biggest shows.
