Viewers can toast the third season of MOONSHINERS with this catch-up marathon – including a new Christmas Special at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT – that reveals the lives of those who brew their ‘shine, often in the woods near their homes using camouflaged equipment, and the local authorities who try to keep them honest.

The Kilchers, led by patriarch Atz Kilcher, have cultivated and lived on their homestead for four generations. These men and women of the wild live off the land, spending the limited months of summer and fall gardening, hunting, and fishing for food, gathering supplies from the land, and preparing their animals’ safety in preparation for surviving the harsh Alaskan winters. Most live completely off the grid, with no running water and no electricity – and are proud of it.

AUCTION KINGS

(Mon., Dec. 23 from 2 p.m. to Tues., Dec. 24 at 6 a.m. PT)

From 19th century vampire hunting kits to softball-sized meteorites, AUCTION KINGS captures the emotional journey of discovering one-of-a-kind riches – or disappointing rags. The bidders and sellers come from all walks of life, looking to make money, buy a unique piece or simply enjoy the excitement of winning a hidden gem. Showcasing one of the most storied auction houses, Gallery 63 and its owner Paul Brown, each half-hour program in this 14-hour marathon follows four or five featured items, from intake to the auction block.

CANADA’S WORST DRIVER EVER

Tues., Dec. 24 from 3 p.m. to midnight ET

(Tues., Dec. 24 from noon to 9 p.m. PT)

Stay off the roads on Christmas Eve! For eight seasons, Canadians have wondered whatever happened to those drivers left standing in the final episode of each season, the drivers ultimately bestowed with the title of “Worst” and the runners-up. Asked and answered! This full-season, nine-episode marathon kicks off with a special episode that looks at why the producers and host Andrew Younghusband brought back “the worst-of-the-worst” from the first eight seasons, what’s happened since they were on the series the first time…and why they still need more help at Driver Rehab.

GOLD RUSH

Wed., Dec. 25 from 3 p.m.to midnight ET

(Wed., Dec. 25 from noon to 9 p.m. PT)

A stocking stuffed with gold? Catch up with the miners in this nine-hour Season 4 marathon as Todd Hoffman puts his life on the line – and asks his crew to do the same – braving malaria, poisonous snakes, and quicksand to set up a mining operation in a patch of hostile jungle deep in Guyana, South America. Last year their Klondike operation delivered a million dollar-season, but the jungle ground promises five times as much gold… if his crew can survive.

FAST ‘N LOUD

Thurs., Dec. 26 from 2 p.m. to midnight ET

 (Thurs., Dec. 26 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. ET)

Viewers can rev their engines on Boxing Day as this 10-episode FAST N’ LOUD marathon follows motor Rawlings and Kaufmann of Gas Monkey Garage in their quest for run-down classic cars in desperate need of care. To some, the cars look like rust buckets, but to this crew, they’re gold and ready to be brought back to life.

AMISH MAFIA

Fri., Dec. 27 from 3 p.m. to midnight ET

(Fri., Dec. 27 from noon to 9 p.m. PT)

Distrusting outside law enforcement, some Amish in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, have turned to a small group of men for protection and justice. Though this nine-episode marathon – including a Christmas Special at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PTAMISH MAFIA offers viewers a rare look at this community and the men tasked with maintaining its peace, order, and protection.

AIRPLANE REPO

Sat., Dec. 28 from 2 p.m. to midnight

(Sat., Dec. 28 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. PT)

Three adrenaline-seeking repo men push themselves, and the law, to the edge to capture multi-million-dollar luxury jets in the action-packed series AIRPLANE REPO. Mike Kennedy scours the Florida night in search of a Learjet that might just crash and burn; Ken Cage and Danny Thompson chase an elusive Baron 58 aircraft across the rugged Arizona desert; and Kevin Lacey pursues a Cessna airplane into rattlesnake-filled rural Texas… straight into the drawn pistols of the Texas police! It’s creative ingenuity, big talk, and a bit of cloak-and-dagger, as this 10-epsode marathon invites viewers to strap into the jumpseat where dangerous heists mean big paydays and even bigger risks.

NEVER EVER DO THIS AT HOME

Sun., Dec. 29 from 5 p.m. to midnight ET

 (Sun., Dec. 29 from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. PT)

Danger! Parents warn their children, caution labels abound, and common sense dictates that there are just certain things that one must never, ever do – especially at home. But NEVER EVER DO THIS AT HOME turns this accepted wisdom on its head, in an “explosive” 14-episode, seven-hour marathon. Blending science, danger, and comedy hosts Teddy Wilson and Norm Sousa conduct madcap experiments and test the limits of what a house can withstand – and beyond. They do it, so viewers don’t have to!

JUNGLE GOLD

Mon., Dec. 30 from 11 a.m. to midnight ET

(Mon., Dec. 30 from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. PT)

Determined gold miners from around the world seek their fortunes in the dangerous and gold-rich jungles of Ghana, Africa’s second largest gold-producing country. Through a 13-hour marathon, viewers can catch up with American prospectors George Wright and Scott Lomu, two hard working men who risk it all to strike it rich as part of a golden plan to recover the real estate crash of 2008 which cost them everything they had.

NAKED AND AFRAID

Tues., Dec. 31 from 5 p.m. to midnight ET

(Tues., Dec. 31 from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. PT)

It’s a NAKED New Year’s Eve! Taking “survival of the fittest” to the next level, each installment of this seven-episode marathon follows a pair of complete and total strangers – one man and one woman -- who find themselves stranded in and, quite literally, exposed to some of the world’s most extreme weather environments. In NAKED AND AFRAID, each duo is left high and dry with no food, no water...and no clothes. They must survive on their own for a full 21 days, with nothing but one personal item each and the knowledge that the only prize is their pride and sense of accomplishment.

DEADLIEST CATCH 9

Wed., Jan. 1 from 7 a.m. to midnight ET

 (Wed., Jan. 1 from 4 a.m. to 9 p.m. PT)

Viewers can start the New Year at sea with the Captains. The veteran captains of DEADLIEST CATCH are back for this full-season 17-hour marathon – and the young deckhands and skippers give them a run for their bounty. Can the captains keep them from taking over the wheel house for good? Adventure is their call, crab is their trade, and a $100-million plunder could be the reward for their sacrifice. Through Season 9, the seven skippers and their crew fight through hell and back again in search of King and Opilio crab. But as the fleet faces off with the raging sea, they discover that sometimes the most violent storms can come from within.

MEGALODON: THE MONSTER SHARK LIVES

Thurs., Jan. 2 at 7 p.m. ET (5 p.m. PT)

MERMAIDS: THE BODY FOUND

 Thurs., Jan. 2 at 9 p.m. ET (7 p.m. PT)

MERMAIDS: THE NEW EVIDENCE

Thurs., Jan. 2 at 11 p.m. ET (8 p.m. PT)

Discovery delves into power of ocean mythology with three back-to-back specials that imagine – with incredible veracity – the “discovery” of a monster shark and mermaids. First, in the incredible two-hour special, MEGALODON: THE MONSTER SHARK LIVES, viewers search for a massive killer Great White shark responsible for a rash of fatalities off the coast of South Africa. One controversial scientist believes that the shark responsible could be Megalodon, an 18-metre relative of the Great White that is one of the largest and most powerful predators in history. Later, discover why people from nearly every culture have spotted or spoken about a half-man, half-fish anomaly. MERMAIDS: THE BODY FOUND and MERMAIDS: THE NEW EVIDENCE imagines first-hand accounts of a team of government scientists who testify to have found the remains of a never-before-identified sea creature with ties to human origins. In a story about evolutionary possibility grounded in scientific theory, experts reveal the natural history of mermaids and show us what they looked like, how they lived and how they could have evolved but remained hidden... until now.

MAYDAY

Fri., Jan. 3 from noon to Sat., Jan. 4 at 4 a.m. ET

(Fri., Jan. 3 from 9 a.m. to Sat., Jan. 4 at 1 a.m. PT)

Statistically safer than car and train travel, thousands of airline passengers board flights every day without hesitation. But when airline disaster strikes, it is often catastrophic. From structural failures and design flaws, to complex computer systems that even cabin crews don’t fully understand, this 16-episode marathon of MAYDAY combines compelling human drama and detailed aviation science to reveal the unsettling truth that aviation safety improves one crash at a time.

BERING SEA GOLD

Sat., Jan. 4 from noon to midnight ET

(Sat., Jan. 4 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. PT)

In the frontier town of Nome, Alaska, there’s a gold rush on. But something’s different. Here, the precious metal isn’t found in the ground. It’s sitting in the most unlikely of places: the bottom of the frigid, unpredictable Bering Sea. And there are a handful of people willing to risk it all to bring it to the surface. Through this 12-episode marathon, the ramshackle town of eccentrics and outcasts booms with excitement, as pioneer gold seekers rush to get out onto the water. Miners dive and dredge to scour the bottom of the sea in custom built, barely seaworthy rigs – in a race to haul in as much gold as possible before the waters become too frigid to dive.

DANGEROUS FLIGHTS

Sun., Jan. 5 from 11 a.m.to 8 p.m.ET

(Sun., Jan. 5 from 8 a.m.to 5 p.m.PT)

It’s the wild west of the open skies. DANGEROUS FLIGHTS follows the renegade pilots of a little-known world called ferry flying – an industry that gives a whole new meaning to “flying by the seat of your pants.” Across this nine-episode marathon, viewers meet the daring mavericks who risk their lives in the dangerous and highly-unregulated business of international aircraft transport. Their job is to hustle small, used aircraft to customers around the globe, through the most exotic and extreme conditions, from the Amazon jungle, to war-torn Africa, to the unforgiving Siberian Arctic. At 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT, the marathon wraps with a new recap special, DANGEROUS FLIGHTS: “Wheels Down” that catches up with the pilots and sets up Season 2 (premiering Fri., Jan. 10 at 9 p.m. ET/PT – full details to be announced soon!)
