QUEEN SUGAR chronicles the lives and loves of the estranged Bordelon siblings in Saint Josephine, Louisiana. The siblings are Nova (Rutina Wesley, TRUE BLOOD), a world-wise journalist and activist; Charley (Dawn-Lyen Gardner, STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS), the savvy wife and manager of an NBA star; and Ralph Angel (Kofi Siriboe, AWKWARD), a formerly incarcerated young father in search of redemption. After a family tragedy, the Bordelons must navigate the triumphs and struggles of their complicated lives in order to run an ailing sugarcane farm in the Deep South.

She later sees Davis on a date during her girls’ night out with Nova (Rutina Wesley) and Aunt Violet (Tina Lifford), and a confrontation ensues. Micah (Nicholas L. Ashe) is pulled over by a police officer in his expensive new car, and Davis uses his star power to secure his release, which upsets Charley. The concern over Micah pushes Aunt Violet to reach out to Hollywood (Omar J. Dorsey) to finally confess her feelings. Plus, Nova mourns the end of her relationship with Calvin (Greg Vaughan) by seeking comfort with new companions. She also holds a community fundraiser. Later, Darla (Bianca Lawson) reaches a decision about her relationship with Ralph Angel (Kofi Siriboe) and Charley makes a huge personal decision.
